CRB on my property

Since Christmas day 2025 I have been collecting CRB on my property using pheromone traps and by picking up adults I find on the ground.

To date, I have used iNaturalist to record each one that I find.

From email to Mark Ero, April 13, 2026:

"I’ve got an interesting CRB story for you: On Christmas day I set up a CRB pheromone trap using ChemTica oryctalure just for fun. The trap is located at the edge of our property overlooking a valley with line of sight to thousands of coconuts including some dead standing stems and some with minor leaf damage. To date, I have only caught a single beetle in the trap. In the same time period, I picked up 2 healthy beetles which had crashed into my house. Looks to me that oryctalure is not very attractive to the local CRB population. Sean and I had the same experience when we tried to collect CRB with pheromone traps in the same area when we prospected for OrNV in the same area.

Last week while taking my dogs for a walk, I noticed a panel trap in front of my neighbours house directly across the road from me. Made contact only to find out that he is the PCA rep for our barongay (village). He has 3 CRB survey traps on his property and kindly gave one to me. What are the chances of living across the street from a PCA employee who is participating in a CRB pheromone trapping? Gotta be miniscule."
